Situated right at the edge of lush forests and surrounded by the magnificent mountain ranges of the Bavarian Forest our cottages Nollert Grande and Nollert Petite are an idyllic holiday place offering a superb view of the surrounding mountain panorama. The small village of Herzogsreut is located on 900 meters above sea level and ideally located only 8 km from the city of Freyung and right between the Bavarian Forest National Park and the Sumava National Park at the Czech border.

The surroundings of Herzogsreut offer a great touristical infrastructure and a wide range of activities. Hiking trails and cross country trails start right next to the cottages. In winter there is also a trail for skiing with dogs (even suitable for dog sledding) available that starts right at the cottages, too. In the village of Herzogsreut you will find a swimming lake and a ski lift. The well-known skiing area of Mitterfirmiansreut (6 lifts) is located only 12 km away. And the beautiful cities of Passau (approx. 36 km) and Prague (approx. 150 km) are perfect destinations for exciting day trips.

The Sumava National Park just across the Czech border and the great Bavarian Forest National Park are located only about 15 minutes drive from our cottages. Both National Parks are well-known for its pristine unspoilt nature and boast spectacular sceneries and a unique wildlife.

In the village of Herzogsreut, only 10-15 minutes walk from your cottage, you will find lots of cosy restaurants and inns offering genuine traditional Bavarian food. Here you will find also a small supermarket supplying the basic necessities. Bigger supermarkets and stores can be found in Freyung, located approx. 8 km away.

More than 15 years ago we moved from the Bavarian Forest National Park to Norway to the village of Ljørdalen known as the gateway to Fulufjell National Park located approx. 220 km north east of Oslo.
